Jimmerson Project

Every now and then, a renovation project comes along that doesn’t just update a home—it completely reinvents it.

We recently had the pleasure of witnessing a stunning collaboration between 3E & WWG. They took a property with good bones but a tired, dated exterior and transformed it into a modern architectural showstopper with incredible outdoor living spaces.

The scope of this project was massive. It wasn’t just a siding swap; it was a total reimagining of the home’s façade and the surrounding landscape. By tackling everything from structural grading to high-end aesthetic finishes, 3E and WWG have set a new standard for exterior renovations.

Here is a closer look at the work that went into this incredible transformation.

Redefining Curb Appeal

The original home was hidden behind overgrown landscaping, basic beige siding, and an uninspiring brick veneer. The goal was to modernize the look while adding warmth and texture.

The teams replaced the old siding with striking, dark siding that immediately gave the home a contemporary feel. To ground the design, beautiful stacked stone veneer was installed over the existing garage brick and lower-level foundation. Furthermore, the entryway received a complete overhaul. A new front door, accented by timber framing and a new concrete stoop, created a welcoming focal point that the house previously lacked.

Connectivity and Flow

A great exterior renovation considers how you move through the space. The old, narrow concrete path was replaced with a grand, expansive new sidewalk. The new concrete work, featuring elegant brick paver borders, doesn’t just lead to the front door; it wraps around the side of the house, creating seamless connectivity between the front yard and the new backyard oasis.

The Backyard Oasis

While the front of the house is about curb appeal, the backyard is about lifestyle. The original backyard consisted of a small, aging wooden deck overlooking a steep, unusable grassy slope. 3E and WWG turned this neglected space into a multi-level entertainment complex:

  • The Upper Deck: The old wood deck was replaced with a larger, low-maintenance composite deck featuring modern black railings, providing the perfect spot for elevated dining.
  • The Patio and Gazebo: Stepping down from the deck, the homeowners now enjoy an expansive paver patio. The centerpiece is a large, custom wooden gazebo, offering shade and a defined area for lounging.
  • The Fire Feature: Adjacent to the gazebo, a built-in fire pit with integrated seating walls was constructed to extend the usability of the backyard into the cooler evening hours.

Mastering the Terrain

Perhaps the most impressive aspect of this project is the work you don’t immediately notice until you look down. The property had a significant slope that made much of the yard unusable. To support the new patio structures and create flat, functional lawn space below, heavy-duty engineering was required.

The teams executed massive yard grading and constructed a towering, tiered retaining wall system. These walls not only provide necessary structural support for the new outdoor living areas above but also add a dramatic architectural element to the landscape, turning a problematic hill into a usable asset.

A Cohesive Masterpiece

The success of this project lies in the seamless integration of varied materials—wood, stone, concrete, and composite—and the flawless execution by the teams at 3E and WWG. They successfully took a house that was stuck in the past and propelled it into the present, increasing both its property value and the homeowner’s quality of life.
